Our Executive Team

Founder:

Priyanshu Mahey

With my passion for education and neuroscience in hand, I started this organization to educate others on the diseases and conditions many people in the world face. With this organization, I hope to help people learn more about all the complications a person’s brain can face and eventually directly help those impacted by brain diseases and conditions. Reach out to me via LinkedIn.

Internal:

Ankita Guha Patra

My fascination towards neuroscience stems from my interest in mental health care. With a background in Cognitive Systems – Brain and Cognition at the University of British Columbia and experience as a crisis responder at Fraser Health, I recognize the importance of both psychological and neurological well-being as key players for creating positive and lasting change.

Fundraising

Shirin Pedram

I have always been passionate about combining my interests in biology and psychology. Ever since I started studying Behavioral Neuroscience, I was keen on finding sources outside of academia related to these interests. Working with Neuro Health BC fulfills that desire for me; knowing I am part of an organisation that seeks to help researchers, patients, and students alike is incredibly rewarding. I am learning more about neurology and neurosciences everyday, while also doing self-discovery on what I hope to achieve in the future. I plan on receiving my Bachelors by Spring 2023 and pursue my Masters in Occupational Therapy.

Shahvir Sarkary

As the Fundraising Co-director, my goal is to host fundraising events realted to our on-going initiatives that help educate people on the topic of Neurological Health and raise funds for it. I’m in my fourth year, majoring in Psychology & Business at Simon Fraser University. I love working on the creative side and I enjoy sharing my passion of learning new things. This is why I joined neurohealth to learn about the new and upcoming ways of overcoming Neurological diseases in Canada and globally. Outside work and academia I like playing soccer, hiking, kayaking, and learning new sports. I’m actively hunting for new places to eat around the city when things open up again post COVID, so please don’t hesitate to send some suggestions my way!

Tracy Ngo

As a student attending the University of British Columbia in the Faculty of Science, I am intrigued by the incredibly vast and diverse spectrum of neurological diseases. As a peer tutor, I researched the various learning disabilities and their respective neurological disorders. However, I realized that many of these conditions were not to be easily perceived as many of these students seemed alike any other individual. With this, my fascination with neurosciences soared and I began my eager journey of broadening my knowledge and advocacy through working with programs, such as the Best Buddies Program, and promoting inclusivity in events of which these students would normally be excluded. Neuro Health BC helps achieve my interests in neurology and establish a truly beneficial, long-term impact.

Nazli Koç

I chose to be a part of Neuro Health to expand my knowledge and to advocate for the importance of brain function. I am very intrigued by the human mind and the underlying science that gives rise to behavior, which is why I am pursuing a major in Psychology at the University of British Columbia. I hope to fulfill my future aspirations of observing and maintaining neurological health in the corporate environment after I finish my Masters in Business Management along with my major. When I’m not being a student, I enjoy reading, writing, watching Netflix, spending time with friends and family, and being outdoors.
